Why I named my Business Boss Lady Tile & More
Attention to Detail…
…that’s what separates Boss Lady Tile & More from others!

Here's a confession: Boss Lady Tile & More wasn't the first name I picked for my business. About a year ago, I had to rebrand and start over with a brand-new name. Looking back, it's one of the best things that ever happened to me.
The curveball I didn't see coming
When you build a business from the ground up, your name feels like part of you. So when circumstances meant I had to let my original name go, I won't pretend I was thrilled. New logo, new website, new truck lettering, new everything. It was a lot.
But if tile work has taught me anything, it's that you don't panic when a job throws you a surprise. You regroup, make a plan, and build it right. So that's what I did.
Why "Boss Lady"
The name came to me, and it just fit. I own this business. I show up, run the job, and stand behind every tile I set. Calling myself the Boss Lady felt a little bold at first, and honestly, that's exactly why I needed it.
This name has brought me a sense of pride I didn't expect. It's made me more aware of who I am and what I'm capable of. Every time I see it on a shirt, an invoice, or the side of my truck, it reminds me that I built this.
And the "& More"? That's because I'm not just a tile installer. My background spans the skilled trades, so if your project needs a little demo, repair, or finish work along the way, I've got you covered.
Why it matters to me at home
The biggest reason this name means so much to me is my daughters. I get to show them, every single day, that there's no limit to what you can make of your dreams, especially as a woman.
This journey has taught me how much can be done when you find what makes you happy and give it everything you've got. I want my girls to grow up knowing that a woman can run a job site, run a business, and be proud of both.
What people say about the name
Here's the part that still makes me smile: people love it. I get comments all the time from clients, neighbors, and folks who spot my truck around Colorado Springs and Fountain. They tell me it's a great name, and a lot of them say how wonderful it is to see a woman in the trades.
Those conversations mean more than people probably realize. Every one of them reminds me that this name isn't just a label. It's starting conversations and maybe even changing a few ideas about who belongs on a job site.
Who's behind the name
I'm April, and I've spent my career in the skilled trades, most recently working with property management groups doing full unit turns before focusing on my own business. That background shapes how I work: careful prep, a plan before the first cut, and no shortcuts.
Today, Boss Lady Tile & More serves homeowners, property managers, and general contractors across the Colorado Springs and Fountain area.
Boss Lady Tip
Sometimes the tear-out is the best part of the job. You can't build something solid on a foundation that isn't yours, so don't be afraid to start fresh. That goes for bathrooms and businesses.
What hasn't changed
The name on the truck is new, but the work behind it is the same. Same attention to detail, same honest communication, and the same pride in leaving every space better than I found it. If you've worked with me before, you already know. If you haven't, I can't wait to show you.
Let's build something together
Whether you're dreaming up a new backsplash, refreshing a tired shower, or looking for a reliable sub for your next unit turn, I'd love to hear about your project. Get in touch for an estimate and let's make it happen.
